3D printed Pendulum Clock

This project pushed my mechanical engineering skills. What started as a small obsession with simple 3D printed clock mechanisms grew into the pendulum wall clock you see here. This build had plenty of challenges, but creating a reliable rewind mechanism was the trickiest part to get right. I ended up designing a ratchet system that lets the user simply pull down on the non-weighted end of the chain to reset the weight back to the top. Depending on how high the clock is hung and how long the chain is, it runs for roughly 10 hours before needing a reset.

The other main challenge was achieving an aesthetic elegance. That meant sourcing vintage brass machine sprockets and chains, outsourcing CNC machining for the custom clock hands, and tracking down various brass hardware to finish and complement the final piece.
